Cognos Reporting Lead
Business Intelligence is the cornerstone of client driven strategy through methods of data discovery, complex analytics, and consultative strategies. The Enterprise Business Intelligence team aims to drive new business and organic growth by providing business insight to thoughtful product strategies and hidden sales opportunities. Business Intelligence supports globally the following business areas providing intelligent insight for data-driven decisions: CFO Office, Global & Regional Department Heads, Sales, Business and Product Development, Global Data, Operational Support, and other verticals across the firm.
The Cognos Reporting Lead will be responsible for design and implementation of a Cognos based reporting shared service. This includes defining reporting approaches, best practices, system design, tuning, and performance, and also data cube loading, security, retrievability, and maintenance. This person will be a Subject Matter Expert for Cognos reporting in building out and supporting the Cognos shared service.
The Cognos Reporting Lead must have a sound understanding of Business Intelligence (BI) best practices, relational structures, dimensional data modeling, structured query language (SQL) skills, data warehouse and reporting techniques but most importantly must be a expert in Cognos reporting capabilities and implementations.
The Cognos Reporting Lead is responsible for the successful delivery of BI information to the entire organization and is experienced in BI development and implementations, data architecture and data warehousing. Additional responsibilities include:
•Creating reporting solutions to solve specific customer requirements
•Serving as a Subject Matter Expert and advising customers in the best reporting options and solutions
•Support implementing BI solutions by: monitoring and tuning queries and data loads, addressing user questions concerning data integrity, monitoring performance and communicating functional and technical issues.
•Extensive Experience with Cognos Implementations including environment, reporting design, and support
•Strong experience with SQL Server/Oracle
•Experience with report design and testing
•Experience with relational database management and reporting
•Experience with analyzing business MIS requirements
•Extensive Experience with SQL
•Experience with Star or Snowflake schemas
•Knowledge of full project lifecycle; ability to communicate requirements to clients and developers
